Is a digital temperature log allowed?
Yes. Food law requires you to document your own checks – not that it has to be on paper. What matters is that records are complete, traceable and can’t be changed unnoticed. Kernwert stores every entry with name, time and a checksum and creates an inspection folder as PDF at the push of a button.
Do my staff need their own account?
No. The kitchen tablet or the phones join once via the team QR code. After that everyone just taps their name. Only the manager logs in.
What if there’s no internet in the cold room?
Kernwert keeps working offline. Entries are stored on the device – with the actual time of measurement – and synced automatically as soon as there’s a connection again.
Do I have to install an app from the app store?
No. Kernwert runs in the browser of any current phone or tablet and can be added to the home screen like an app. Apps for iPhone and Android are coming.
How long can I try Kernwert for free?
14 days with all features, no credit card. The trial ends automatically – there are no costs if you don’t choose a plan. Your data is kept and can be exported at any time.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes, all plans can be cancelled monthly. You can download your records as PDF, CSV and ZIP beforehand – you’re not tied to anything.
Where is my data stored?
On the Kernwert server at our hosting partner, transferred encrypted and backed up daily. We don’t sell data and use no advertising trackers. A data processing agreement (DPA) under GDPR is part of the contract.
Is Kernwert approved by the authorities?
There’s no official “approval” for record-keeping software. What counts is that your self-checks are complete and traceable. That’s exactly what Kernwert ensures: mandatory corrective actions, explained gaps and a clear inspection folder.
